Funeral Luncheon Ministry
Members of the Women of Saint Dennis organization who volunteer to serve a luncheon to families after a funeral service at the parish.

Girl Scouts
An informal, educational organization in which girls are encouraged to build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with trained and dedicated leaders, girls develop qualities which will serve them all of their lives, such as strong values, a social conscience and the conviction of their own potential and self-worth.

Grief Ministry
This ministry has provided outreach to those experiencing the loss of a loved one through death. Two 4-week sessions, with a reunion one month later, are provided by the Grief Team each year. A “Moving through Grief” series is held in the spring and the video series “No One Cries the Wrong Way” is held in the fall. Members of the Saint Dennis Circle of Friends provide additional support to families with phone calls, visits and notes/cards for one year.

Hospital Visitation Ministry
Volunteers visit and offer support to hospitalized parishioners at Madison hospitals. Spiritual support with prayer and/or Eucharist is a part of the visit. The parish SHARE Ministry is explained and patient needs for the Ministry’s services upon discharge are determined during the visit. Please let us know if you are going to be hospitalized, know a parishioner who is hospitalized or would like to be part of the Hospital Visitation team.

Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists enhance the music of our parish choirs and cantors by providing piano, guitar or percussion accompaniment, as well as other instruments.

Knights of Columbus
An organization for Catholic men ages eighteen and older committed to exemplifying charity, fraternity, patriotism, and the support of religious vocations. A Knights of Columbus council can work wonders; in fact, with its many programs, it can help change the community, town, city or neighborhood in which you live.

Prayer Ministry
This spiritual ministry invites parishioners to pray daily for the needs of the parish, the world and for individuals who are experiencing problems as well as to pray in thanksgiving for prayers answered. They receive, by mail, a list of prayer intentions monthly. Members receive a certificate, cross and book of prayers when they are commissioned.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Members meet monthly to knit and crochet, in a prayerful manner, warm, comforting shawls. The shawls are blessed when completed and distributed to parishioners in need who are suffering from an illness, a loss or a problem due to advanced age. The shawls provide a tangible way to encounter God’s love and represent the prayers of the caring community of Saint Dennis.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process for adults who are seeking to be baptized and join the Catholic Church. It is also for baptized adults who are interested in completing their full membership into the Catholic Church through the reception of Holy Eucharist and/or Confirmation. This process helps adults grow in their relationship with God, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, and experience community of faith through friendships and service.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children)
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) is a process for children from first grade through high school who desire to be baptized. It is also for children older than the second grade who are baptized and desire to be prepared to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. This process requires the involvement and participation of the parents of these children.

Rosary & Social Ministry
Volunteers visit the elderly or lead the rosary to enable the residents of local nursing and rehabilitation facilities to feel a part of the Saint Dennis faith community.

Sacristans
Sacristans set out the vessels, ensure lay ministers are present and make other preparations for the weekend Masses. They also clean and put away vessels after Mass. This ministry allows the priests to be available to people prior to and following the Liturgy. The ministry can be performed by one person, or a couple. It is an enjoyable family ministry for young couples with children.

Sign Interpreters
Sign Interpreters provide interpretation for persons who are deaf, using American Sign Language at the Sunday 9 am Mass. This ministry is provided in part thanks to a grant from the Apostolate to the Handicap.

Sunday Communion to the Nursing Homes Ministry
Saint Dennis offers Communion on Sundays to the residents of local nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Parishioners began providing this service in the 1970s.
